TBA Whistler Arts Council hosts the 5th annual 'Out of Bounds: Tales from the Backcountry', photo contest and exhibition!
Images will be taken of skiing and snowboarding in B.C.'s beautiful backcountry, whether accessed by foot, snowmobile, helicopter, watercraft or dogsled.
Manipulated images will be eligible in a separate category. They will not be eligible for the grand prize however.
Eligibility: amateur and professional photographers residing in B.C.
1st prize: Heliskiing trip from Coast Range Heliskiing.
The impartial Jury will select photographers who will be showcased and eligible to win
Submissions judged on: artistic merit, composition, technical skill and adherence to show theme.
Deadline for submissions: January 2nd, 2009.

TBA This is one of the largest sports, music and arts festivals in North America, featuring over two thousand athletes and a number of performances. Activities include celebrity events, film festival, demo days and live music. Riders are competing for a large monetary prize. The event is hosted by the legendary Whistler Blackcomb resort.
Crud to Mud + My Favorites
TBA Established in 2002, the Crud to Mud event sees solo participants and teams of two ski or board from the top of Whistler Mountain to the snow line. At that point those competing solo hop onto a bike, as does the second person on each solo team, and race through the Whistler Blackcomb Mountain Bike Park.
Kids of Steel Triathlon + My Favorites
TBA Established by the Whistler Triathlon Club in 2005, the Kids of Steel Triathlon gives local youngsters the chance to show off their athletic skills. The race consists of a swim, bike ride and run, the lengths of which varies depending on age group. Prizes are awarded and the race is followed by a picnic.

TBA Established in 1991, the annual Whistler Valley Trail Run sees participants, both locals and visitors, test their limits in a 5 km (3 mi) and a 10 km (6 mi) run. The day begins with a Teddy Bear Trot for kids and during the main race runners can drop the little ones off at the Kids Drop Zone. Snacks are offered after the event and prizes are awarded.
